We are open - sorry I've not updated this... nearly everything is done apart from the images, however the first run has been printed and are waiting to be framed. We're really enjoying meeting people and getting to knwo what every one wants.

We've a few offers on at the moment, the first and main one is a £1.50 price for all hot drinks and half price for all refills.

More updates through flickr and facebook.

Wednesday.... the floor is going in tomorrow... and I'm panicking to round up the photographers and get their images from them so I can get everything off to the printers... I'm in and out of the shop most days now, if I'm not there please give me a call on 0781 785 0202 I'd love to hear from you.

We have the keys :-) This means that as soon as the builders have put in the floor and adjusted a few bits and bobs... you are all welcome. There might not be anywhere to sit... but you're all welcome.

After a lot of disappointment with some properties in Brighton we have finally found a location. We will - by about the end of May - be opening on North Road in the old parking permit office. The shop is beautifully fitted and nice and large with over seven hundred square feet. We will be working in the shop from about the 28th of May onwards so please feel free to drop in and say hello.

More great feedback this week, I'm thinking of featuring one international photographer every month to add something special into the mix as I feel that the perspective and the post processing of different parts of the world could be very interesting. Looking around the different photographers there is different feel to the images as you move from one country to another, from colours and content through to effects.

I'm trying to set up the online gallery for this site, I'd like to feature just a few images to give people an idea as to what they might see in the shop, so if you are interested in putting a few images up - with your names etc, please could you let me know and I'll put them up.. please let me know either way click here for information

Finally, I've been getting some great feedback regarding the idea of turning the shop over to photographers or groups of photographers. The options have now expanded slightly with weekday evenings being one, the whole of Sunday being the other. I love the idea of doing this and making each one in to a proper event.

Some more ideas... they're coming thick and fast. The first if for our photographers. I see no reason why in the evenings I can't take the shops pictures down and hand the walls over to some one interested in running their own mini exhibition or perhaps one or two people together with a wall each? What would you all think of this?

I can't for any reason see why aside from perhaps a few pounds to have a staff member stay on why there would be any charges.

From that to the more off the wall - perhaps not immediately - however it is possible with the use of special films to project on to glass, this potentially could turn the entire shop front in to a giant picture frame, giving the flickr idea below quite a lot more room to run.

Yet again it gives us a chance to show a much wider range of images, and I think it would be new and fun. I'd appreciate your ideas on this one click here :-)

Another week and some new ideas. Some one has suggested that I try and do here is collect images from my flickr group and stream onto a TV display in the shop, using RSS it should work. If we can edit the image to show the name of the photographer we'll also get every one some free promotion.

Responses so far from the photographers that I have contacted has been brilliant. I had always hoped that people would be just generally interested but am really nicely surprised at the response. It seems that the world of photography really does need a place to meet and share photos.

I'm also being given ideas to work with by people and to be honest I want to try and use all of them in some way or another so please keep them coming in, I really appreciate them. So far I've interest in people wanting to set up garage studios, do photo tours and digital photography introductions.

The selection of images that I have to choose from is outstanding, I'm 100% sure that we'll end up with some of the best pictures of Sussex ever seen on the walls of a shop, the creativity and care that people have taken over these images is all the more reason why we need them to be seen. I'm also including an more arty section and an international section where every month I'll try and feature one off images from around the world and Brighton Australia seems like the best place to start.

I'm still on the lookout for staff, you don't have to be able to do much, I'm only looking for some one that networks very well and has a good basic understanding of how a camera works. A coffee shop is about people as well as coffee and images. Ideally I'd like someone that has some experience making and producing sandwiches as my cooking skills are on par with the American legals system.

I've linked in the site to both flickr and facebook... the eternal triangle as they then both link to each other... god it's confusing... anyway click away. Also if any of you have any sites that you'd like me to add a link to on the contact page please ask.. I don't see why not.
